Abhiyanga is an Ayurvedic full-body massage using warm herbal oils that aim to improve circulation and nourish the tissues.

Abhiyanga is a kind of Ayurveda massage which is completely different from normal body massage. It has a tremendous benefit to the body, mind, skin and immune system. The word ‘abhiyanga’ is composed of two Sanskrit words, Abhi and Anga. Abhi means ‘towards’ and anga, means ‘movement’. It is the secret to beautiful glowing skin and effectively slow-down all your skin’s aging process.

In Abhiyanga Ayurvedic oil massage, the oil which is used for massage is medicated oil and contains components of castor oil, Mustard oil and Till oil. These components are good for the constitution of Vata, Pitta and Kapha. There are various abhiyanga massage technique & procedure involved for a fulfilling massage therapy. In Ayurveda system, AbhiPanchakarma therapy in Purva Karma or pre-treatment stage.

Steps to Perform Shirodhara Therapy

Step 1

We will ensure you are in a warm and comfortable room, free from drafts.

We will lay out a towel on the floor or a comfortable surface to catch any excess oil.

We will warm the oil slightly by placing the container in a bowl of warm water.

Firstly, Starting with your neck, shoulders, and arms, apply more oil and we massage each body part using long strokes along the bones and circular motions on the joints.
