This is the main step of Nasya and includes instillation of luke warm medication in both the nostrils, alternately, with the help of proper instrument like dropper. In this procedure patients mouth is cleaned by giving luke warm water to gargle and then medicated smoke is given for inhalation.

Steps to Perform Nasyam Therapy

Step 1

Firstly we will allow recipient to lie down comfortably with their head tilted backward.

Step 2

We may start by cleaning the nasal passages with a saline solution or warm water.

Step 3

We will use Medicated herbal oil or herbal powder is selected based on the patient’s condition and dosha (body constitution). The oil is usually lukewarm for comfort.

Step 4

We willuses a dropper or a cotton swab to apply the medicated oil or powder into the nostrils. This is done carefully and gently.

Step 5

After administering the medicine, we massage the area around the nose, face, and forehead to help the oil or powder penetrate deep into the nasal passages.

Step 6

We will encouraged patient to inhale deeply during this process.

Step 7

After the procedure, We will advise patient to rest and avoid exposure to cold drafts, strong winds, or heavy physical activity for a specific period.
